Recreation Therapist

Job Summary

Recreation Therapist Day Shift 5 x 8s; 8:30am to 5pm (30 minute lunch). Typically, Monday - Friday with 1 full weekend shift per month. Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary In-Office | Vallejo, CA, United States.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients’ needs and create individualized recreation therapy plans.
• Deliver evidence-based recreation therapy sessions on site.
• Meet individual and program-wide performance metrics and targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.
• Track client progress and adjust plans to meet targets.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
• Document sessions, outcomes, and generate milestone reports.
• Participate in professional development activities and apply learnings.
• Develop and maintain client pipelines to identify new opportunities.
• Educate clients and families about therapy benefits and goals.
• Utilize data to identify trends and improve service delivery.
• Promote a high-visibility role by communicating progress to supervisors.

Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
• Current Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential preferred or eligible.
• Proven ability to assess needs and design individualized therapy plans.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting performance metrics and targets.
• Compliance-focused with knowledge of safety, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.
• Experience delivering on-site, evidence-based recreation therapy sessions.
• Strong documentation skills with progress tracking and milestone reporting.
• Ability to analyze data to identify trends and improve service delivery.
• Strong pipeline development skills to identify opportunities and grow client base.
• Collaborative mindset to work with interdisciplinary teams.
