Recreation Aide

Wage: $17.20 per hour

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, full-time
• Option 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 1–10 pm; Thursday, Friday off; Saturday 1–10 pm; Sunday 11 am–8 pm
• Option 2: Monday 1–10 pm; Tuesday off; Wednesday off; Thursday 1–10 pm; Friday 2:30–11:30 pm; Saturday 2:30–11:30 pm; Sunday 1–10 pm

Responsibilities

• Monitor, plan, and direct students engaged in center-sponsored activities both on and off center
• Plan, implement, and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation
• Chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center
• Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs
• Participate in Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques through activities both on and off center
• Teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities using creative skills

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience working with youth
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
