About the role

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a strong personal recovery and serves as a positive example of recovery.
  • Works in conjunction with multiple disciplines to meet individual's treatment and recovery needs.
  • Facilitates (or co-facilitates) groups and individual recovery sessions.
  • Serves as an individual advocate and support resource throughout the treatment process.
  • Works to reduce instances of seclusion and restraint by building therapeutic alliances and practicing trauma-informed care.
  • Utilizes knowledge of community resources to help meet individual's unique recovery needs.
  • Promotes multiple paths of recovery and encourages them equally.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams throughout the treatment and recovery process.
  • Documents all encounters with individuals in the electronic health record.
  • Encourages and supports individuals from a place of experience and understanding, willing to use appropriate self-disclosure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least one year of personal recovery.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • American Association of Peer Specialists (AAPS) certification.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based/person-centered skillsets, such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Verbal De-escalation, Harm Reduction, and Person-centered language.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
  • Three or more years of personal recovery experience (preferred).
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Workplace Behavioral Health/Substance Use Treatment or GMH Recovery experience (preferred).

Skills

  • Strong personal recovery.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to facilitate group and individual recovery sessions.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based/person-centered skillsets.

Pay

Shift differentials apply: $2/hr for Monday-Thursday nights, $3/hr for Friday-Sunday nights, and $2/hr for Saturday-Sunday days.

Schedule

Full-time position with flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs and the demands of the role.
