Recovery Support Specialist (RSS)

Job Responsibilities

  • Assesses needs and develops an Individualized Recovery Plan (IRP).
  • Utilizes recovery-oriented interventions/services to ensure effective progress toward IRP goals.
  • Provides education and consultation to the Clinical Support Team on client-centered approaches.
  • Trains clients and their families in illness and recovery management.
  • Engages clients in natural support networks and activities promoting community integration.
  • Assists clients in finding, obtaining, and retaining safe, affordable, and decent housing.
  • Arranges transportation for clients as needed.
  • Maintains all client records including progress notes, service plans, and releases.
  • Performs administrative duties such as preparing documentation and maintaining statistical records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with significant experience related to the population served.
  • Current, valid Connecticut driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain Peer Support Specialist certification (preferably already certified as recovery coach or recovery support specialist).
  • Personal experience relevant to services provided (recovery).
  • Willingness to travel among various Rushford sites and transport clients as appropriate.
