Recovery Support Specialist

About the role

The Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) provides experience, education, and professional services to support individuals in achieving and maintaining recovery-oriented, wellness-focused lifestyles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive patient services, including assessment, discharge planning, and warm handoffs
• Provide advocacy, education, and recovery support
• Engage patients in crisis and therapeutic interventions
• Assist in recovery planning and discharge coordination
• Deliver motivational interviewing
• Facilitate continuum of care and follow-up support
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure proper documentation and effective care transitions
• Educate patients and families about addiction, overdose signs, naloxone administration, and navigating insurance and transportation barriers

Requirements

• Lived recovery experience
• CPRS certification
• Narcan training
• Advanced communication skills
• Computer literacy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Compassionate, professional demeanor
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations
