Recovery Support Specialist

About the role

Provides recovery-oriented community-based services to adults with behavioral health diagnoses at a Drop-In Center, supporting their recovery plans and goals. Acts as a mentor and support figure, facilitating groups, activities, and education on mental health, daily living, and social skills. Responds to crises, offers linkage to mental health services, and encourages self-advocacy. Maintains accurate documentation, collaborates with healthcare providers, and integrates evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License
• Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) within 2 years
• Lived experience with mental illness

Skills

• Effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work sensitively with consumers, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
