Recovery Specialist SUD

Summary of Position

Assists clients with daily living activities and tracks, monitors, and documents client behaviors and interactions. Assists in planning therapeutic recreation for groups and may lead individual and group activities with clients. Completes day‑to‑day program tasks, monitors clients and the program facility to ensure safety and compliance with program guidelines. Serves as the point of contact by providing coverage of the front desk, reception area, and phone systems. Provides administrative and program support for the staff and residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist clinical staff in meeting and monitoring the client’s medical and health care needs by observing and documenting client compliance with medication regimes as dictated in the treatment plan.
• Assist in the implementation of agency programs as specified by supervisor.
• Facilitate group activities according to program schedule and implement individualized care plans as developed by the treatment team.
• Assist clients in learning how to meet basic needs, including medication management, developing life skills (e.g., cooking, money management, cleaning, parenting), pursuing recreational and leisure activities, housing, transportation, legal, medical and financial assistance, and securing appropriate entitlements.
• Assist in census management, admissions, and discharges.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in‑person, and virtual methods.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Experience working with the criminal justice system and the Department of Child Services preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: Not applicable.

Pay

$15.75 – $22.00 per hour
