Responsibilities and Duties
- Directs and supervises the day-to-day operations of the living environment, coordinates on-site activities, and assists residents with life skills and cooperative living.
- Monitors residents' prescribed medication, refills, and disposal of discontinued medication, and documents daily intake on individual resident's medication sheet.
- Oversees the program to ensure safety, a drug and alcohol-free environment, and 24/7 availability for emergencies.
- Makes resident headcounts and wellness checks, monitors resident activity and physical plant conditions, and enforces reporting procedures for suspected child abuse and neglect.
- Facilitates therapeutic groups and creates progress notes detailing attendance and participation.
- Prepares typed and/or legible reports and documents relevant information in shift change logs.
- Transports residents, as necessary.
- Participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Represents GAAMHA/FSH/Greenwich House in the community and adheres to agency policies.
- Performs hourly checks and accurately documents shift notes in Kipu.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CADC/LADC certification(s) and/or experience working with homeless individuals and families with substance disorders and/or experience in a residential treatment setting is preferred.
- A demonstrated capacity to support people in early recovery from substance use disorders is preferred.
- Candidates identifying as being in recovery from SUD must have one year of continuous sobriety.
- Excellent oral, written, and social skills, and cultural competency.
- Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
