Recovery Room Interventionist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate of Science/Associate of Arts or thirty six (36) college hours and/or active Content Substitute Teaching Certificate required
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in a related area from an accredited college or university preferred
• Experience working with children or young people with behavioral needs preferred

Requirements

• Must be able to deal with daily stressors such as inappropriate verbal and physical behaviors
• Able to use email or willing to learn new skill with training
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds

Skills

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, other staff members, and community agencies
• Knowledge of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and/or MANDT procedures
• Ability to adapt learning materials to meet student needs
• Positive interaction with students and modeling of appropriate behavior
• Ability to provide escort and assistance to students
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and other information shared about students
• Participation in requested training responsibilities

Schedule

The duration of the position is contingent upon the continued funding of the program, project, or assignment for which the appointment is made. The salary and work calendar are to be established by the Board of Education.
