Recovery Navigator Overnight Shift

About the Role

We are looking for a Recovery Navigator to join our team, passionate about helping people as they learn how to establish a lifestyle of recovery free from substance use. This position is designed to serve clients at Samaritan Respite Community throughout their time on campus, beginning with bringing them in for admission and following through their recovery as needed. You will build strong relationships with each department at Samaritan to achieve the best care for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Function as an ambassador for Samaritan and assist the Admissions team by admitting new clients to the respite program.
• Participate in screening clients, answering phones, and assisting in completing admissions paperwork.
• Transport clients to Samaritan and build strong working relationships with referral sources such as hospitals, emergency rooms, EMT, police/sheriff, and community agencies.
• Assist with clients moving into the unit and provide the first point of contact to referral sources, including follow-up communication.
• Support the Admissions and Recovery Tech teams by supervising clients during shifts, assisting new clients with orientation, and participating in client care as needed.
• Support the Clinical Department by assisting the Respite Counselor in conducting groups, sessions, or locating discharge housing, healthcare appointments, and other tasks.
• Support the Medical team by transporting clients for initial visits, off-site visits, medication runs, and moving clients throughout the facility.
• Provide discharge transportation as determined by the medical, clinical, or Recovery Tech team.
• Document all client encounters appropriately for billing.
• Consult and coordinate with the program administrator regarding specific client needs.
• Engage with the community to raise awareness of Samaritan’s needs and services, with consent of the program administrator.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, including lifting up to 25 lbs and walking reasonable distances (e.g., through hospital or business parking lots).

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with the underserved population.
• Some knowledge of addiction and experience with this population.
• High school degree required; college degree preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
