About the role
The Recovery Mentor position at Isaiah House is crucial as it offers clients continuous support, encouragement, and guidance during their recovery process. This role involves being a positive role model and leveraging personal experiences to help clients build confidence, advocate for themselves, and remain engaged in treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent emotional, strategic, and recovery-focused support to clients.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating integrity in actions and words.
- Afford one-on-one support, organize structured activities, facilitate client meetings, and handle advocacy needs.
- Contribute to client retention, manage crises, and enhance overall client engagement.
- Comply with Isaiah House policies, complete necessary trainings, and perform additional duties as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must meet APSS certification requirements and keep APSS certification active through annual completion of 6 hours of CEUs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
- Must complete Isaiah House's core competency training and Leadership Academy upon implementation.
- Adhere to Isaiah House's policies, procedures, mandatory in-services, and required trainings.
