Compensation

Starting Compensation: $19.00 – $22.00 USD per hour.

Schedule

Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, etc.).
  • Experience: One (1) year of full‑time equivalent experience working in a program serving individuals with mental disabilities or completion of 20 hours of regulated on‑the‑job training within the first year of employment (in addition to standard annual training requirements).
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Valid California Driver's License (required).
    • Preferred: Valid California Class “B” Driver’s License.
    • Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
    • Required within 90 days of hire: ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
    • Required within 90 days of hire: First Aid certification (approved agency, e.g., American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of clients through direct and indirect physical and verbal interaction.
  • Ensure all safety regulations are followed and maintain facilities in a safe, clean condition.
  • Assist with client laundry, household cleaning, and other tasks as needed.
  • Maintain the facility in a clean, orderly, sanitary, and attractive condition.
  • Be added to the Approved Driver list and drive clients in the company vehicle as requested.
  • Deliver high‑level customer service, maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for clients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
  • Model appropriate behaviors for clients and monitor daily client activities.
  • Screen incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventory all client property.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment.
  • Control access to the center, answer/direct incoming clients, conduct physical security checks of the grounds, and respond to fires or emergencies.
  • Maintain vigilance over the general milieu to facilitate quality client care, optimal facility operations, and safety.
  • Perform duties under direct supervision of the Program Director or designee, with some tasks completed independently.

Division & Program Overview

The position is based in a 16‑bed residential facility offering a short‑term, home‑like environment. The 24/7 intensive treatment program serves as an alternative to hospitalization or urgent care. Clinical services include comprehensive physical/psychological evaluations, mental health counseling, and case management. The program also provides life‑skills and interpersonal training, along with dedicated assistance for locating permanent housing.
