About the role
Terros Health is seeking a Recovery Coach / Peer Support Specialist to join the Families FIRST program. This role impacts the lives of families overcoming substance abuse barriers to achieve reunification and self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial outreach within 24 hours of receiving a referral from the Department of Child Safety (DCS).
- Inform clients about confidentiality laws and obtain written consent for coordinating care with DCS and other agencies.
- Provide a copy of the signed Aff Release of Information to DCS and other relevant agencies within five business days.
- If in-person contact fails, notify the referring DCS Specialist within three days to explore alternative methods.
- Made at least two additional outreach attempts within five business days of receiving the referral.
- Closes cases for reasons of Unable to Contact, Unable to Engage, or Refusal only after documenting three attempts within five days.
- Uploads required documents into DCS' designated record-keeping system within prescribed timeframes.
- Completes required documentation in client records that aligns with professional practice, state licensing regulations, and company procedures, including Progress Notes.
Requirements
- Compassionate, professional, friendly, self-starter, organized, and skilled in time management.
- Experience in substance use treatment and familiarity with evidence-based practices.
- Ability to facilitate group sessions and provide personal assistance in daily living skills.
- Knowledge of confidentiality laws and ability to secure informed consent.
- Experience working with families involved with the Department of Child Safety (DCS).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Substance Abuse Counseling, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Proficient in using technology for document management and record-keeping.
- Experience with evidence-based practices and strategies.

Pay
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time Monday through Friday, or flexible to work weekends and evenings.
