Responsibilities

• Combat negative self-talk and overcome fears
• Solve problems and articulate, set, and accomplish goals
• Teach members to advocate for the services they want and/or need
• Build social skills to enhance chances for employment or meaningful community activities
• Assist clinical staff in identifying recovery-friendly program environments
• Lend unique insights into mental illness and recovery

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Minimum of one (1) year in recovery from Maricopa County behavioral health services
• Peer support certificate required
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certification
• Valid Arizona driver's license
• At least 21 years of age

Knowledge, Ability, And Skills

• Excellent member and family relationships
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Organized and critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in multiple types of office equipment and Microsoft Office software
• Proficient in using the internet and various web browsers
