About the role

Responsibilities
- Combat negative self-talk and overcome fears
- Solve problems and articulate, set, and accomplish goals
- Teach members to advocate for the services they want and/or need
- Build social skills to enhance chances for employment or meaningful community activities
- Assist clinical staff in identifying recovery-friendly program environments
- Lend unique insights into mental illness and recovery
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Minimum of one (1) year in recovery from Maricopa County behavioral health services
- Peer support certificate required
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certification
- Valid Arizona driver's license
- At least 21 years of age
Knowledge, Ability, And Skills
- Excellent member and family relationships
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Organized and critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in multiple types of office equipment and Microsoft Office software
- Proficient in using the internet and various web browsers
