Recovery Coach- A New Way Recovery Support Center

About the role

Bay State Community Services is seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Coach to provide peer-based support to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive, strengths-based relationships with individuals seeking recovery support.
• Aid participants in identifying personal recovery goals and developing action plans.
• Provide encouragement, mentoring, and advocacy throughout the recovery process.
• Connect individuals with community resources, treatment providers, housing, employment, education, and other supports.
• Facilitate recovery-focused groups and activities as appropriate.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in this position.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain the program operations of the Center.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with sustained recovery is required.
• Strong people focus and orientation will add value to the agency and programs that the Recovery Support Center serves.
• Must attend the DPH-BSAS 5-day Recovery Coach Academy.
• Develops trusting relationships.
• Respects and advocates for all paths to recovery.
• Excellent organizational skills (oral and written) and the ability to excel at details, multitasking, and working under pressure.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize is a position requirement.
• Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program.
