About the role

The Records Specialist within Information Governance Operations is responsible for implementing aspects of the Firm’s strategic plan relating to the effective management of client information. The Specialist supports the Firm's Records and Governance program by maintaining accurate documentation of retention, storage, and destruction activities within Firm recordkeeping systems. They assist with the coordination, tracking, and recording tasks associated with retention policies, ethical walls (information barriers), legal holds, and other related processes.

The Specialist works closely with the Information Governance Analysts, Technical Support Services team, office records personnel, and other members of the Firm Client Services group. They primarily work within Information Governance but may interact with members of the practice groups, office staff, and internal teams to gather and record process tracking information.

Responsibilities

  • Implement aspects of the Firm’s strategic plan for effective management of client information.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of retention, storage, and destruction activities within Firm recordkeeping systems.
  • Assist with coordination, tracking, and recording tasks related to retention policies, ethical walls (information barriers), legal holds, and other related processes.
  • Work closely with Information Governance Analysts, Technical Support Services, office records personnel, and other Firm Client Services members.
  • Interact with practice groups, office staff, and internal teams to gather and record process tracking information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in fields related to computer science, information science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Understands the Firm’s Records and Governance program requirements and how they intersect with information governance workflows.
  • Experience or exposure to information management, databases, or coursework in a related field.
  • Substantial familiarity with Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, or Smartsheet required.
  • Experience working in a business or professional services environment.

Skills

  • Knowledge of common technology solutions for storing information in a database format (such as Microsoft Excel, SmartSheet, or others).

Pay

The starting salary range for this Cleveland position is $70,000 to $80,000. Compensation is determined based on the market, position responsibilities, applicant experience and skills, and other job-related factors.
