Records Management Specialist
Job Description
Digitizing WIPP records, ensuring that records are properly scanned, categorized, stored or shredded, and archived. Have practical knowledge of records management policies and procedures. Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in managing confidential information. Results oriented with high commitment to quality.
Duties
- Understand and follow workflows, processes and procedures developed to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Scanning and indexing of records, as required.
- Interfaces with Records Program Manager and other Record Program staff and stakeholders.
- Ensures safe work conditions are maintained by following all safety rules.
- Perform quality control checks.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Other task and duties as assigned within Records Specialist job class.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years of related experience in an office environment desired.

About the Role
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.
