About the role
As a technical consultant in the Orthopaedic Reconstruction product portfolio, you will convert physicians and accounts through sales calls, clinical case coverage in the operating room, and surgeon training on Smith+Nephew products. You will collaborate with key podiatric and orthopedic surgeons, hospitals, OR staff, Sterile Processing Department (SPD), administration, clinicians, and researchers to increase awareness and adoption of products, including the CORI robotic surgical & navigation system.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to convert physicians and accounts through sales calls and clinical case coverage in the operating room.
- Train surgeons on Smith+Nephew products via education and programs in your territory.
- Develop and execute an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet or exceed sales quotas.
- Build positive relationships with surgeons, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and hospital administration to provide data-driven, trusted solutions.
- Work cross-divisionally to increase product awareness and adoption, including the CORI robotic surgical & navigation system.
- Provide first-class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs.
- Partner with Smith+Nephew Reconstruction and Sports Medicine counterparts to discover sales opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of sales experience in the medical device industry (preferred).
- Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, specifically selling orthopedic products.
- Proven track record of selling or converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members and new sales representatives.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and passionate about forming relationships to drive sales revenue.
- Willingness to travel within the designated sales territory (2-4 overnights per month) and infrequent national travel for events and conferences.
- Must successfully complete our credentialing process, which may include COVID-19 vaccine management, to gain entry into healthcare facilities.

Pay
The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $120,000 USD annually, depending on the candidate’s qualifications. You may also be entitled to receive bonus and benefits.
