About the role
The role involves performing a wide range of disassembly, reassembly, paint and packing operations required to recondition beds and various other products and components. Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems and repairing as required. Installing a wide range of field upgrade kits and performing retrofit duties and functions as required by the business.Responsibilities
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Installation of upgrade kits and product modifications.
- Performing cosmetic repairs (e.g., sanding / painting).
- Cleaning and disinfecting of used beds and components.
- Disassembly and reassembly of beds and components.
- Packing of various finished products.
- Performing material handling duties including loading/unloading of trucks.
- Computerized labor reporting & inventory control transactions.
- Troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Retrofitting and reworking of various new products and components.
- Performing various visual and mechanical inspections of products and components.
- Recording keeping and maintenance of various production reports.
- Adhering to all safety and environmental policies, and procedures.
- Adhering to all regulatory compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid CDL license and ability to move trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Ability to learn and perform a wide range of activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong mechanical skill and dexterity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to make thoughtful decisions and draw accurate conclusions based on available information.
- Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and grasping.
- Ability to physically move bed frames.
- Ability to enter and exit high profile vehicles.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in extreme cold and/or extreme heat.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Required to acquire and hold a valid CDL license and have the ability to move trucks and trailers safely and efficiently from one location to another.
- May be required to acquire a powered industrial vehicle (PIV) certification and operate forklifts and/or other industrial vehicles.
- May be required to acquire a weld certification through internal company weld school and perform occasional weld repairs on damaged products.
