Receptionist Part Time 11pm-7am

About the role

Warren Barr Gold Coast is seeking a Part-Time Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our premier skilled nursing facility in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. In this role, you will provide superior customer service, ensuring the efficiency of facility operations and upholding the high standard of care our residents expect.

Responsibilities

• Operate a multiline telephone and paging system, answering and routing incoming calls to the appropriate party.
• Greet and direct all visitors, ensuring sign-in procedures are followed and restricting entry when necessary.
• Report suspicious behavior to the supervisor on duty.
• Respond to inquiries about job openings and distribute applications to prospective employees.
• Receive, sort, and forward incoming mail, coordinating express mail services.
• Report guest concerns to the appropriate department head.
• Maintain lists of guests, staff extensions, and key personnel.
• Handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Keep the lobby and workstation clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, or supply issues to the supervisor.
• Communicate effectively and tactfully with guests, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
• Respond to special requests from guests and family members.

Work Environment

This role operates in a healthcare setting, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position may involve contact with patients who have contagious illnesses. While largely sedentary, some tasks may require lifting, bending, or standing as necessary.

Schedule

This is a part-time position in a 24/7 healthcare facility. Rotating shifts, including holidays and inclement weather, may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in a customer service role (preferred).
