About the Role

The Receptionist receives and assists patients and visitors, answers telephone calls, and organizes appointments. They help to facilitate patient care by carrying out receptionist responsibilities in a professional, efficient, and accurate manner.

Schedule

Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Responsibilities

  • Receive and assist patients and visitors
  • Answer telephone calls
  • Organize appointments
  • Perform other receptionist duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • De-escalation training must be completed by the end of position orientation (90 days)
  • Experience working in a clerical or secretarial role in a healthcare-related setting preferred
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer, MS Outlook, Word, and other office technology (telephone, fax, etc.)
  • Keyboard proficiency
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply professional skills to a patient population of all ages

Physical Demands

  • Moderately active work involving sitting, moving about the office and facility, and occasional travel within the SRHS service area
  • Exerting negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body
  • Exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues, which may carry the hazard of infectious disease
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers (e.g., operating a computer keyboard)
  • Ability to perceive sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Close visual acuity and ability to adjust focus between computer monitors and printed materials
  • Ability to remain active for extended periods without undue fatigue
  • Flexibility to work assigned schedules, including potential changes for off days, shifts, or weekends
