Position Overview

The Receiving Supervisor provides direct oversight and execution of all inbound operations at Capital Health’s Central Distribution Warehouse. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for the receiving, inspection and initial processing of inbound freight supporting multiple hospitals and affiliated offsite locations. The Receiving Supervisor also drives operational pace and enforces strict process discipline to ensure consistent throughput and high-quality control standards to support uninterrupted patient care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree in related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role within stores and distribution, warehousing, purchasing and inventory control with an emphasis on the receiving process when accompanied by an Associate's degree.
  • Five years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role in stores and distribution, warehousing, purchasing and inventory control with an emphasis on the receiving process when accompanied by a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Accounts Payable functions is preferred.

  • Drivers License
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of receiving and distribution functions. Proficiency in maintaining warehouse systems such as WMS/ERP/MMIS. Advanced interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats. Demonstrated commitment to fostering positive customer service relationships.
  • Special Training: Level 2 Hazardous Materials Awareness training. Certified (or capable of certification) in power pallet jack and forklift operation.

Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently from start to finish. Proven capacity to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to lead and elevate small teams.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequent physical demands include: Standing, Walking, Talk or Hear
  • Occasional physical demands include: Sitting, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Carry objects, Push/Pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl, Wrist position deviation, Pinching/fine motor activities, Keyboard use/repetitive motion
  • Continuous Physical Demands Include: Lifting Floor to Waist 25 lbs., Lifting Waist Level and Above 15 lbs.
  • Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Minimal Depth Perception, Minimal Hearing
  • Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Chemical, Extreme Temperatures, Uneven Surfaces or Elevations, Extreme Noise Levels, Dust/Particulate Matter
