Receiving Specialist (Full Time 40 hrs) Tropical Shell & Gifts Savannah

About the Role

The Receiving Specialist is responsible for processing Purchase Orders of merchandise for the Distribution Center and the stores it supports, ensuring retail locations have a continuous flow of merchandise to sell. This position uses company software and other tools to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities

• Create and process source documents for financial transactions by compiling, reviewing for accuracy, coding, scanning, and sorting information.
• Follow department procedures while working with buyers, store managers, and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
• Track pending credits using an Excel spreadsheet.
• Enter data in specific fields using a keyboard.
• Abide by all policies, procedures, and programs.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Formal computer training preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.

Skills

• High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently or as part of a team within established rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including word processing, spreadsheets, emails, office machines, and file/record management.
• Ability to identify, gather, and analyze information, exhibit sound judgment, and make timely decisions.
• Strong active listening skills, including giving full attention to others, understanding points being made, and asking appropriate questions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
