Position Responsibilities
- Performs incoming and in-process inspections of machined components, composite panels, solar array panels, propulsion tanks, and other precision assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards
- Utilizes precision measurement and inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gages, thread gages, surface plates, depth gages, and Romer Arm, to verify dimensional and geometric tolerances
- Documents inspection results, manages nonconforming material, and drives resolution with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, including MRB actions as required
- Reviews and maintains vendor documentation, including Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, test reports, and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports; scan, file, and organize records in electronic quality systems
- Ensures all measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operating within established tolerances
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production) to resolve issues and support continuous improvement projects
- Aids in training production and quality personnel to ensure adherence to inspection standards and quality system requirements
- Accurately processes inspection results and material transactions in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Identifies bottlenecks, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement in inspection and material handling processes
Qualifications
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- More than 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance
- More than 1 year of experience in inspection
- More than 1 year of experience conducting Inspections using ASME Standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- More than 1 year of experience with using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc.
- More than 1 year of experience with precision measurement equipment
- More than 1 year of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints
- More than 1 year of experience interpreting mechanical drawings and work instructions
- More than 1 year of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
- Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
- Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks
