Position Summary
Under the guidance of our Operations Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for moving steel throughout our service center.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Embrace the 1 T.E.A.M. culture
- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
- Operate forklift and/or overhead cranes to transport material within service center in a safe and reliable manner from trucks, facility, etc.
- Receive material into computer system
- Move product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store in appropriate area
- Maneuver material handling equipment safely and efficiently through limited space areas
- Stock and rotate materials as necessary
- Verify counts and product shipped and/or received
- Stage material for sales and production orders
- Report all equipment failures to immediate supervisor
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education Requirements
- A High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
Licenses/Designations and Certifications
- Licensed to operate a forklift and/or crane
