Boom/Crane Operator Delivery

About the role

Operates boom and/or crane to move heavy construction material into specific areas of the yard or onto delivery truck, including rigging, planning and hoisting. Inspects and maintains boom/crane equipment in order to ensure safety and prevent damage to equipment and surrounding structures.

Responsibilities

• Operates boom including rigging, planning and hoisting of a variety of heavy construction materials
• Performs pre-operational inspection and maintenance of boom/crane
• Moves material into specific areas of the yard or hoists material onto the delivery truck
• Rides along with Driver to assist in the unloading of material at the customer site
• Calculates boom/crane capacities and weights and checks clearances to prevent damage during operation
• Plans and paces own work efficiency to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals
• Observes and adheres to all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers
• Attends periodic safety meetings as required and may recommend changes to improve safety procedures

Requirements

• Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools
• Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to read and understand machine and equipment diagrams and system schematics
• ProBuild Boom/Crane Operator certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Two (2) years boom and/or crane operation experience, or equivalent combination of education, training or experience
• Requires Boom or Crane Operator certification
