The Receiving Lead oversees all incoming and outgoing material shipments, coordinates communication, and executes shipping and receiving activities to meet customer service expectations. This role includes supervising the receiving team, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

Lead Responsibilities

  • Lead by setting a good example—behavior consistent with words.
  • Develop, train, and direct employees in all aspects of the job, including maintaining department equipment to keep it in operating condition.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Strive for team consensus and win-win agreements.
  • Intervene to aid the group in resolving issues and ensure team members’ concerns are addressed quickly to avoid delays or missed goals.
  • Encourage constant improvement and recognize team member accomplishments and exceptional performance.
  • Communicate discipline and performance feedback as needed.
  • Report department production flow and workload concerns to the manager to ensure completion of all daily orders.
  • Ensure all employees in the department wear required PPE during the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee unloading, inspecting, verifying QC, and filing paperwork for all incoming materials.
  • Ensure proper stocking and replenishment of incoming materials to assigned warehouse or yard locations.
  • Verify all incoming materials match the shipper’s ticket and computer inventory count.
  • Document and address discrepancies or QC issues on the Bill of Material.
  • Ensure the Warehouse Manager inspects and signs off on all incoming discrepancies.
  • Monitor the ship outbox regularly and arrange, pack, and process all material ship outs.
  • Report QC material issues to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Maintain and clean the work area to meet daily housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any issues that arise.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the receiving team to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehousing, shipping, and receiving.
  • Computer literate; proficient with MS Office 365.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal).
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detailed-oriented work style comfortable with multiple priorities while maintaining consistency.
  • Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.

Pay

$21.00 per hour.
