Receiving Inspector

Responsibilities

• Supports multiple teams in Simsbury.
• Provides effective verification of products and certification packages against requirements and communicates findings associated with the verification.
• Performs inspection of components and assemblies as part of receiving inspection.
• Inspects product using hand-held gages, MicroHeight, and Optical Comparator.
• Maintains accurate, neat, and complete inspection records.
• Keeps work area organized and clean and follows all established safety guidelines.
• Works within a team structure to achieve company and department goals.
• Performs additional duties related to specific area assignments when requested.
• Has the possibility for EBAD to teach the inspector on the operation and programming of a Hexagon CMM.

Requirements

• Graduated from High School or equivalent G.E.D. and 5+ years of experience with inspection of mechanical components in an aerospace or defense related company.
• Capable of utilizing all standard inspection tools and equipment including calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, and optical systems.
• Familiar with AS9000/AS9100 quality system procedures.
• Familiar with Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T).
• Able to read and understand military specifications and industry standards.
• Able to read and understand English.
• Able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management and engineering staff.
• A high level of attention to detail is a must.
• Basic PC fundamentals, knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.

Desired Skills

• Significant experience working directly with internal/external customers and suppliers.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 20 pounds.
