About the role
Omron Automation is a subsidiary of Omron Corporation, a global technology company with a focus on sensing and control technologies. We design and manufacture technologically-complex electronics used in industrial automation applications.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspection of incoming parts and materials, ensuring they meet required specifications.
- Randomly validate dock-to-stock parts/materials, ensuring products meet specifications.
- Create non-conforming reports (NCR) and stock purge records (SP) for any defects found.
- Maintain all receiving inspection lab equipment, ensuring proper working order and calibration.
- Conduct daily process and product audits of current Work in Process (WIP).
- Support Quality Assurance procedures per ISO 9001 standards.
- Create and modify Receiving Inspection Plans (RIPs) as required.
- Work closely with Quality Inspection Supervisor, all Operations and Engineering groups to continually improve processes.
- Support relevant department goals and objectives, including environmental goals and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A two-year technical degree or the equivalent combination of training, experience, or certifications.
- Two years of relevant experience in high-tech electronics manufacturing with experience in Quality Control testing, Inspection, service repair, or similar skill function.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Documented ability to understand and follow technical instructions drafted in English for testing or repairing electronic equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with delicate technical components in a manner that promotes safety and results in a high-quality product.
- Documented ability to communicate complex technical issues within email or other written formats.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deal effectively with conflicting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- LSS Green / Yellow Belt.
- Documented project management and time management skills.

Physical / Environmental Requirements
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to talk, hear at normal speaking levels, sit and use their hands and fingers to write, type, and assemble small-form electronics, including repetitive motions with the wrists, hands and fingers.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands, this position involves sitting and standing for large portions of the work day.
- Environmental Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
