About the role
As a Receiving Associate at Rural King, you will efficiently load and unload shipments, dividing them for storage or movement to the sales area. This includes unpacking merchandise, preparing products for display, stocking shelves, and managing inventory. Your role ensures products are accessible, well-stocked, and safely stored while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving and processing apparel. You will also maintain accurate records, handle purchase orders, and contribute to inventory management during high-demand periods.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments, preparing merchandise for storage or sales floor distribution.
- Unpack, set up displays, stock shelves, and ensure products are easily accessible and well-distributed.
- Follow SOPs for receiving and processing apparel, including merchandising racks and maintaining stock levels.
- Process purchase orders accurately using scan guns and computer-based software.
- Monitor and address purchase order and distribution center (DC) shortages daily, communicating discrepancies.
- Maintain thorough records by filing receiving paperwork daily.
- Sort DC trucks and verify vendor price tags.
- Place security tags and price labels on select apparel items per SOP.
- Manage supplies inventory, including hangers, labels, and security tags.
- Handle store-to-store transfers, shipping, and receiving with accurate recordkeeping.
- Assist in inventory management on sales floors during peak periods.
- Collaborate with the receiving team to ensure seamless operations.
- Organize products onto rocket carts for efficient distribution.
- Transport sorted freight to sales floors, ensuring appropriate quantities.
- Assist management in accurate merchandise tracking.
- Facilitate smooth store-to-store and UPS transfers.
- Contribute to managing negative on-hand inventory research and review.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization to create a safe work environment.
- Operate office equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools as needed.
- Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments.
- Engage in learning initiatives such as training programs, workshops, and webinars.
- Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
- At least 1 year of receiving experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
- Proven track record of producing error-free work and meeting quality standards.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Comfortable navigating computer systems and software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
- Ability to use a ladder, pallet jack, and forklift.
- Able to navigate and access all facilities.
- Skill to effectively communicate verbally, both in-person and via electronic devices.
- Close vision for computer-related activities.

Pay
Minimum USD $13.75/Hr. Maximum USD $16.80/Hr.
