Receiver Retail

SpartanNash, a member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family, is a food‑solutions company that distributes grocery and household goods—including fresh produce and the Our Family® portfolio—to locations in all 50 states. Position Summary

This role is responsible for the efficient and accurate checking of all vendor deliveries and for performing other functions as required, ensuring the shift contributes to the best financial interest of the store. All other duties are completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all procedures are followed when checking in or out vendors.
• Receive all merchandise, check and verify invoices, process all credits, and accurately log according to company procedures.
• Communicate promptly to the Store Director any problems or situations that may affect the integrity of the store or the vendor.
• Ensure stock/product is taken to applicable storage and/or workload areas.
• Handle spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines.
• Know product locations in the store to assist customers effectively.
• Maintain receiving records and logs for internal audits.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well‑stocked department.
• Follow all policies and procedures relating to security of the receiving door.
• Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
• Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Suggestive selling and knowledge of products.
• Detail‑oriented.

Physical Requirements

The role may require lifting and/or moving up to 30 lb frequently and up to 50 lb occasionally. The associate must stand and walk for extended periods and may need to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. Work is performed in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise levels are usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
