Receiver - Inventory Control Clerk

A Day In The Life

You’ll be overseeing all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensuring merchandise is accurately received, accounted for, and stocked. You’ll walk the store daily to scan DSD items, identify out-of-stock or overstock conditions, and partner closely with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk. You’ll also communicate regularly with the Store Director to support inventory accuracy and promotional execution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee DSD operations and ensure accurate receipt and stocking of merchandise.
• Scan DSD items and identify out-of-stock or overstock conditions.
• Partner with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk.
• Communicate with the Store Director to support inventory accuracy and promotional execution.
• Maintain a secure, clean, and organized backroom environment.
• Monitor donations, manage grocery and non-perishable inventories, and process returns for credit.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with receiving, tracking, and reconciling inventory, especially in a retail or grocery environment.
• Basic computer skills including email, Excel, and familiarity with store portals or inventory systems.
• Ability to lift/carry 5–50 lbs., push/pull 10–50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills with vendors, delivery drivers, store management, and fellow associates.
• Problem-solving ability to make decisions independently and resolve issues related to inventory and deliveries.
• Organizational skills to maintain cleanliness, security, and order in the backroom and receiving areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in inventory control or similar roles preferred.
