About the Role
Oversee the receiving dock area to receive, inspect, identify, count, and verify quality and labeling of all materials and supplies delivered to the facility. Complete related documentation, coordinate the storage of supplies, and enter information into the inventory database. Ensure all safety regulations and quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Perform additional duties as needed to support the movement and maintenance of supplies and raw materials.
Responsibilities
- Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies, and procedures per company guidelines.
- Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions or acts immediately.
- Review work schedule, perform safety checks on equipment, obtain supplies, and prepare for operations.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safety Gear.
- Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
- Open loading dock doors, set dock plate in place, and prepare the area to receive products and supplies.
- Inspect incoming trailers to ensure they meet company quality standards and take appropriate action as needed.
- Receive incoming products and supplies, verifying items on the receiving schedule against the bill of lading.
- Ensure count accuracy, record counts on appropriate forms/database, and verify quality and labeling of all materials.
- Perform damage control checks on received items and contact supervisor about removing items per company policy.
- Inspect date-sensitive items, perform temperature and quality checks, and take appropriate action as needed.
- Identify, label, and store supplies according to specifications and enter purchase order data into the inventory system.
- Coordinate and/or unload and transport items to staging areas using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Assist forklift operators by putting away, breaking down pallets, changing stretch wrap, and re-wrapping pallets as needed.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the warehouse, loading dock, and trailers clear and clean.
- Remove and replace batteries requiring recharging and complete vehicle inspection checklists.
- Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 6–12 months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
- Ability to work scheduled, assigned times and required overtime.
- Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Able to lift and stack product between 10–35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
- Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, and dry).
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
