About the role

As a rebar production worker, you will bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customers' orders. You'll work with a mentor who will train you on safely using all machinery. Candidates must be able to work in an outdoor environment. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• Bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars according to customer orders
• Operate machinery safely under mentor guidance
• Work effectively in outdoor environmental conditions

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Must be age 18 or over
• Due to operating conditions, this is a safety-sensitive position; must pass a drug test, including THC
• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Able to read and comprehend basic safety and operational instructions
• Able to perform basic math for accurate bar measurements

Preferred experience

• Previous work in construction and landscaping is a huge plus
• Previous trades experience tends to lead to success in the role and may offer significant opportunity for advancement

Pay

Weekly production bonus and profit sharing: 20.17% 5-year average.
