Rebar Estimator

Purpose Of This Position

Providing technical estimates based on bid documents and drawings. Providing initial customer contact in person or by phone for the purpose of quoting, negotiating, and writing orders.

Duties

• Provide technical estimates of reinforcing steel for construction projects and prepare bids for customers.
• Follow up on bid lists and bid confirmations.
• Call on customers to follow up key bids and to solidify relations.
• Analyze the construction markets through trade publications and recommend projects to estimate based on customer needs and availability of resources.
• Cook up bidding with other branches.
• Work with Branch Manager on pricing strategies.
• Preparation of job for chief detailer and/or detailer(s).

Minimum Qualifications And Experience

• A GED or high school diploma is required.
• Previous rebar shop, field, estimating, detailing, or office experience is required.
• Previous sales experience is preferred.
• Computer skills and the ability to learn programs related to reinforcing steel are required.
• Experience in the construction market and blueprint reading with strong mathematical skills are required.

Pay

Pay Range: $80,168.00 to $85,000.00 annually DOE

Shift: Typically Monday-Friday 7 AM - 4 PM
