About the Role

Reasons Eating Disorder Center is seeking compassionate professionals to join our team as Program Therapists in our Inpatient Eating Disorder Program at BHC Alhambra Hospital. This role involves providing care to both adult and adolescent patients, with a focus on those with eating disorders, trauma, substance use, and within the LGBTQIA+ communities. Positions are available per diem and full-time, with schedules including Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs.

BHC Alhambra Hospital is a 115-bed, fully accredited acute psychiatric hospital located in Rosemead, California. We offer a range of services, including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient care for behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups for adults and adolescents.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare team members, and community providers regarding patient status and progress.
  • Interact and communicate with patients, families, outpatient providers, and community agencies to assess and provide services.
  • Provide liaison and referral services to community agencies and appear in court when requested or subpoenaed.
  • Assist patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs through therapeutic treatment to achieve optimal emotional health.
  • Provide crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and information/referrals as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with professional ethics and facility standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Marriage/Family Therapy, Social Work, or a clinical-related mental health field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with direct involvement in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; strong clinical assessment skills preferred.
  • Experience with eating disorder populations is highly preferred; specialized education and training may be acceptable in lieu of experience.
  • Must be master’s prepared or higher; licensure is not required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is highly preferred.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
