About the role
This position is responsible for servicing a combination of residential and commercial customers while operating a rear load garbage truck. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a rear load garbage truck on assigned collection routes.
- Service residential and commercial customers in accordance with scheduled route assignments.
- Read and follow route sheets, work orders, and dispatch instructions.
- Operate hydraulic controls to collect and unload waste materials.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all DOT, company, and safety regulations.
- Transport collected materials to designated disposal or transfer facilities.
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers and the public.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical requirements and working conditions
- Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering of containers weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to repeatedly enter and exit the vehicle throughout the workday.
- Work performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to noise, moving mechanical equipment, vibration, dust, and other environmental conditions associated with waste collection operations.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of vehicle inspection procedures and basic truck maintenance.
- Strong safety mindset and commitment to following company policies and procedures.
- Previous waste industry experience is preferred but not required.

Pay & schedule
- Pay: Starting at $22.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Start Time: 5:00 AM
- Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week with overtime as needed
- Route Type: Residential and Commercial Collection
