Real Estate Project Manager
About the role
As a Real Estate Project Manager at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), you will own the entire lifecycle of our commercial building projects. You will lead complex initiatives from guiding the scope definition to the final ribbon-cutting, ensuring our facilities meet the standards and operational needs. This is a dynamic role where you will serve as the central hub connecting internal business units, military commands, and external vendors (Architects and Contractors).
Associates who excel in this role act as true owners’ representatives with an Architectural/Engineering and project management background. They understand retail operational requirements and guide scope definition to meet those needs while holding firm to schedule and budget. They are great communicators who leverage the capabilities of our operators, internal teams of retail designers, subject matter experts, and external AE consultants to "solve for YES." Ultimately, they are proactive, tenacious, and balanced associates who have the vision to see how our projects directly support our mission of service and the knowledge and skill to make them happen.
Responsibilities
- Guide the Vision: Coordinate with internal teams, host military Installations (City), and vendors across all design and construction phases.
- Drive Execution: Keep projects on schedule and ensure documents meet requirements and standards for a successful project.
- Manage the Details: Set project budgets, finalize documents, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor Progress: Track milestones, review technical reports, and report on both design and job-site construction progress (Travel).
- Leverage Technology: Utilize both industry-standard applications and internally developed software.
- Equip the Space: Work with our fixture team on the ordering and installation of Exchange-furnished equipment and fixtures.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in design and construction of major commercial building types and one of the following certifications: PE - Professional Engineer, RA - Registered Architect, AICP - American Institute of Certified Planners.
- Or Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering and three years of experience in design and construction of major commercial building types.
- Degree: BACHELORS DEGREE - Required, BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE - Preferred, BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING - Preferred, BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ENGINEERING - Preferred.
- Major/Minor: ARCHITECTURE - Preferred, ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT - Preferred.
- Certificate/License: ARCHITECT - Preferred, LEED AP - Preferred, PROJECT MGMT PROFESSIONAL CERT - Preferred.
Skills
- MICROSOFT OFFICE PRODUCTS - Required.
- CAD - Preferred.
- MICROSOFT PROJECT - Preferred.
Pay
Salary Minimum $72,064.00.
Schedule
Frequent TDY required.
