About the role
The ideal candidate will manage the full lifecycle of North Carolina residential real estate transactions from initial intake through post-closing. Responsibilities include receiving and reviewing purchase contracts, coordinating with real estate agents, lenders, and clients, drafting settlement statements, preparing closing packages, and managing the disbursement process.
Responsibilities
- Receive and review purchase contracts, engagement documents, and initial intake materials.
- Order title searches, HOA statements, surveys, payoff statements, and other required documents.
- Conduct preliminary review of title work and identify issues requiring attorney attention.
- Cook up and distribute preliminary and final settlement statements (Closing Disclosures, ALTA statements).
- Compile loan packages and ensure all lender conditions are satisfied in advance of closing.
- Schedule closings and provide all necessary information and documents to clients and agents.
- Prepare full closing packages, including deeds, affidavits, disclosures, and lender-specific forms.
- Cook up and sign closing documents with the appropriate parties.
- Manage the disbursement process, including wiring funds, issuing checks, and confirming all documents are properly signed and notarized.
- Electronically record deeds, deeds of trust, and other documents with the appropriate Register of Deeds in North Carolina counties.
- Finalize title insurance opinions and deliver them to the appropriate parties.
- Confirm all payoffs and disbursements have been processed, and close out files in accordance with firm procedures.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of NC real estate closing procedures, title standards, and recording requirements.
- Experience with settlement software (e.g., SoftPro, ProTrust, Simplifile) strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and client-service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially with title issues.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership over files.
Pay
$55,000 to $65,000/year
Schedule
Full-time; Direct Hire; Monday - Friday
