About the role
This position reports to the Real Estate Loan Center Origination and Processing Supervisor and involves answering real estate and mortgage loan-related inquiries, completing credit applications, and processing appraisal orders.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls regarding real estate and mortgage lending issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of real estate and mortgage lending policies and guidelines.
- Obtain information to complete credit applications and related documentation.
- Direct members to appropriate individuals and schedule appointments for originators.
- Set up real estate application files and input data into the mortgage loan origination system.
- Assist with loan processing and posting tasks as directed by management.
- Order appraisal reports using the Appraisal Ordering System (AOS) while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding appraiser independence.
- Act as a communication liaison between appraisers and origination staff.
- Ensure all provided information complies with regulations regarding appraiser independence.
- Track appraisal status and information within the Appraisal Ordering System to ensure current data availability.
- Maintain communication with appraisers regarding progress and expectations.
- Follow up with appraisers to confirm delivery dates and provide additional documentation as needed.
- Confirm and verify Loan in Process accounts in the Symitar system for appraisal billing.
- Cross-sell credit union services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Six months of prior experience in a service-related position with direct member contact at this credit union (preferred), or one year of similar experience in a service-related field.
- Pleasant telephone voice and mastery of English speaking and comprehension skills.
- Strong listening skills and clear communication abilities.
- Familiarity with online data operations.
- Basic typing and 10-key touch calculator skills.
- Ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously.
Tenure requirements for advancement:
- RE Loan Center Specialist II (Category 15): Six months’ tenure in the RE Loan Center Specialist I position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations.
- RE Loan Center Specialist III (Category 14): One year tenure in the RE Loan Center Specialist II position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations.
Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may substitute for tenure.
Pay
Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and applicable local or state wage requirements. New hire base salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.
$40,241 - $57,142 annually
