Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain legal files, correspondence, and transaction-related documents to ensure records remain accurate and accessible.
  • Cook up attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and track important dates to support timely case and matter management.
  • Prepare, format, and revise legal documents, reports, and other materials using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Enter, update, and manage information within case management systems and related legal databases.
  • Aid in billing support by reviewing time entries, organizing invoice-related information, and helping maintain accurate financial records.
  • Conduct legal and property-related research using tools such as LexisNexis and summarize findings for the legal team.
  • Monitor incoming inquiries, documentation requests, and issue escalations, ensuring matters are directed and resolved efficiently.
  • Support litigation and real estate matter preparation by helping assemble briefs, exhibits, and supporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience in a Legal Assistant role, preferably within a real estate or property-related legal practice.
  • Proficiency with case management software and legal research platforms, including LexisNexis.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with particular skill in Microsoft Excel and document formatting.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain organized calendars, and handle competing priorities with accuracy.
  • Experience supporting billing processes, recordkeeping, and legal documentation workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. A paralegal certificate may be preferred but not required.
