Real Estate Counsel – New York

Thompson Coburn is seeking an attorney with 8+ years of commercial real estate experience, with an emphasis on real estate finance transactions, for its New York office.

About the role

The ideal candidate will have significant experience representing lenders, real estate owners, developers, investors, and funds in complex commercial real estate matters, including mortgage, mezzanine, and construction financings.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in commercial real estate transactions, workouts, condominium law, and commercial leasing
• Handle acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects
• Draft, negotiate, and manage sophisticated transactions independently

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial real estate experience, with a focus on real estate finance transactions
• Admission to the New York Bar
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Lender-side experience is particularly valued

Pay

Salary range: $300,000 – $400,000. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, training, and other job-related factors.
