Real Estate Audit Manager
About the role
This Real Estate Audit Manager role will be based out of any of our east coast offices. You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders, leading engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients in the real estate industry, including REITs, developers, real estate funds, and property managers. Responsibilities
- Lead the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of audit, review, or compilation engagements for real estate clients, including REITs, developers, real estate funds, and property managers.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement, from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, to issuance.
- Provide supervision and support to engagement staff, promoting open communication with the engagement senior manager and partner.
- Collaborate with senior managers and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for issues arising during an audit.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines.
- Create and track engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies during the audit.
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
- Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
- Deliver insights on portfolio risk, asset management strategies, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA license required.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Experience auditing real estate or related organizations.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including familiarity with US GAAP due to the complexity of engagements in this sector.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a fast-paced, results-based team environment.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skills.
Pay
The compensation for this position ranges from $110,000 to $180,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, and the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
