A leading national law firm is seeking a Real Estate Land Use Associate to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple Texas offices or remotely for candidates based in Texas. Position Overview

The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience handling complex land use matters and will play a key role advising clients on development projects and regulatory strategy. This position requires a strong understanding of municipal processes and the ability to engage directly with local governing bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a wide range of land use and zoning matters
  • Navigate land-use entitlements, permitting, and regulatory approvals
  • Handle zoning and planning issues, variances, and development approvals
  • Manage platting, subdivision, and land development code compliance
  • Draft and negotiate city development agreements and related documents
  • Represent clients at zoning and planning meetings as needed
  • Provide strategic guidance on land development projects from inception through completion

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land use, zoning, and real estate development
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar
  • Demonstrated experience with municipal regulations and entitlement processes
  • Ability to attend in-person zoning and planning meetings
  • Strong academic credentials and legal writing skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
