About the role
Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a midlevel real estate associate to join their Real Estate & Land Use practice group. This position is open to the Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, and Bellevue offices.
Responsibilities
- Draft, manage, and negotiate complex transaction documents
- Interface directly with clients and counterparties
- Think beyond the transaction, anticipate issues, structure solutions, and deliver work product with genuine care and precision
- Build relationships with clients, colleagues, and counterparties
- Collaborate with the team and the broader firm to contribute to a nationally recognized practice in the dynamic sector of commercial real estate
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant transactional real estate experience
- Familiarity with AI tools — including large language models, document automation, and workflow orchestration — is a plus

- Strong business judgment

- Ability to think in terms of client outcomes, not just tasks
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to handle complex legal matters
- Experience with real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, construction, and development
- Knowledge of real estate investment across various property types and industry sectors
- Experience with large language models, document automation, and workflow orchestration
