About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized and small-group reading interventions using evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional practices
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction to support growth toward IEP goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and school districts to ensure coordinated student support
  • Develop engaging lessons that address each student's unique strengths, challenges, and learning profile
  • Maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings, and contribute to a positive learning environment

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and valid Connecticut State 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts certification or eligibility for Connecticut licensure
  • Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or another structured multi-sensory literacy approach
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with students with special education needs and language-based learning differences
  • Experience with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and educational data collection
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a commitment to helping students of all abilities succeed

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Special Education, Reading, or a related field
  • Valid Connecticut State 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts certification or eligibility for Connecticut licensure
