Reactor Operator

Principal Accountabilities

• Complies with all rules, policies and procedures.
• Aid in making spreads, pulling/pushing buns.
• Conduct and log daily inspections of work areas and equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance.
• Assist in cleanup of plant during downtime.
• Be familiar with Solimide Foams' Loss Control Policies.
• Complete Reactor Operator Task list.
• Complete Reactor Operator Daily Checklist.
• Complete Forklift inspection and operate safely.
• Run assorted quality tests in lab.
• Makes resin batches.
• Moves raw materials from the warehouse to the production area.
• Loads, unloads and moves hazardous and non-hazardous waste and raw materials.
• Compact scrap foam.
• Write work orders.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader.

• Complete batches in a timely and safe manner.
• Follow batch procedures to assure quality product.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Wage certificate preferred for employees hired on or after January 1, 2004.
• One-year experience in production type environment and an understanding of plant operations.
• Operate a computer.
• Relate and interact well with people at all levels in the company.
• Requires walking, standing, use of hands and reaching for up to 12 hours per day.
• Must be able to pull, push and lift weights up to 100 lbs.
• Requires some manual dexterity with body flexibility.
• Requires normal vision and hearing.
• Must be able to operate all types of basic factory & maintenance equipment.
• Must be able to operate a fork truck and various saws.
• Use of Windows based computer systems.
• Must be able to wear and function with all required PPE.
• Pay attention to details.
• Good communication skills.
