Reactor & Major Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

The Supervisor of Reactor and Major Maintenance provides leadership, technical guidance, work management, engineering assessment, and administration for a diverse team including project managers, supervisors, and support contractors. This role ensures that reactor and major maintenance work at Columbia Generating Station (CGS) is completed safely and efficiently, overseeing both plant personnel and contractors. The supervisor plans and administers departmental and station-wide projects, coordinates multi-discipline teams, and resolves technical issues to meet project goals.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer work on departmental projects to ensure productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead multiple major maintenance project teams, monitoring progress and implementing technical or process improvements as needed.
• Manage all phases of reactor and major maintenance projects, including refueling outages, forced outages, and other multi-discipline initiatives.
• Oversee budget development and tracking, technical issue resolution, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial safety, work prioritization, and resource allocation.
• Provide oversight of contractors to ensure compliance with plant processes and procedures, and monitor contractor performance using established indicators.
• Assist the Reactor and Major Maintenance Manager in maintaining appropriate staffing and qualifications.
• Train and support subordinates, prepare performance expectations, and conduct semi-annual performance reviews.
• Make recommendations regarding employment actions such as promotions, salary changes, transfers, and terminations.
• Resolve personnel problems and support the corrective action program.
• Participate on the Emergency Response Team (ERO) when designated.
• Support the biennial refueling outage and provide assistance to the Operations Control Center (OCC) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 10 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience.
• Experience in supervising a multi-disciplined organization, including technical and manual staff.
• Experience as the responsible supervisor or project manager at a commercial nuclear power plant, non-nuclear power plant, or industrial facility projects.
• Experience managing complex projects, online work management, or refueling and forced outage management activities.

Pay

Pay Range: $145,302.00 - $217,952.00 annually. Midpoint: $181,627.00. Selected candidates are typically hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on experience, qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

This role may be eligible for participation in the annual incentive plan, with incentives earned based on performance against defined metrics and company goals.
