React Native Engineer

About the role

This is a hands-on role working on a widely used mobile app. You’ll take ownership of core areas of the codebase, ship features across both iOS and Android, and help improve performance and overall user experience. The team is lean and product-focused, so there is strong ownership, quick iteration, and close collaboration with product and design. It’s a solid fit for someone who enjoys building polished consumer apps and wants meaningful input on how the product evolves.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of core areas of the codebase
• Ship features across both iOS and Android
• Help improve performance and overall user experience
• Own key parts of the mobile app
• Develop shared UI and product logic
• Ship features across iOS and Android devices
• Improve app performance, reliability, and testing
• Partner with product, design, and engineering
• Contribute to architectural decisions
• Troubleshoot production issues and support on-call as needed

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience building and shipping mobile applications
• Strong React Native and TypeScript experience
• Production application experience
• Ability to own features end-to-end
• Background in consumer apps, games, or edtech
• Experience with performance optimization
• Exposure to AWS or backend systems
• Experience in small, fast-paced teams
