(RD) Registered Dietitian - Per Diem - 141058
Per Diem position with a 20% appointment percentage. Work schedule includes days, 8-hour shifts, Sunday through Saturday across various worksites.
About the Role
Under the supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Registered Dietitian collaborates with the healthcare team to provide medical nutrition therapy to adult patients. Responsibilities include attending rounds, working with the interdisciplinary team, providing nutrition support (both enteral and parenteral), and educating patients' caregivers and staff. The RD will also oversee the activities of diet technicians.
Responsibilities
- Identifies patients at various nutrition risk levels based on department criteria.
- Assesses nutrition needs, identifies nutrient requirements, and develops nutrition interventions considering age and disease-specific needs.
- Develops, implements, and records the nutrition care plan for all assigned patients in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Fosters continuity of care across all phases of the care continuum.
- Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
- Manages the delivery of nutrition care in assigned units and actively participates in medical rounds.
- Participates in department special projects, performance improvement activities, and research.
- Provides nutrition lectures and in-services to nutrition and medical staff as assigned.
- Collaborates with Diet Techs and mentors dietetic interns/students.
- Actively assesses, evaluates, and maintains professional development and competency related to assigned units.
- Assists with foodservice projects to improve patient satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent.
- Completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics internship.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.
- Two years of experience in an acute care setting with comparable acuity level.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNSC Certification.
- Master's degree.
- Demonstrated experience using EPIC.

- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
Pay
Annual Full Pay Range: $108,117 (prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly rate: $51.78. Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
